Minnesauke Elementary School’s 5th and 6th Grade Drama Club made a splash last weekend with their vibrant production of “Finding Nemo the Musical.” Under the direction of Laura Hawkins, Kristen Swift and Paul Wilgenkamp, students brought the beloved Pixar tale to life with colorful costumes, lively choreography and heartfelt performances.

The musical ran for two performances, Friday evening at 7 p.m. and a Saturday matinee at 3 p.m., drawing enthusiastic crowds of families, friends and community members.

From the undersea journey of Marlin and Dory to Nemo’s brave adventure in the big blue, the young cast wowed audiences with their talent and teamwork. The production was a celebration of creativity, confidence and the power of storytelling.

Last weekend, Nassakeag Elementary School was transformed into an enchanted castle as over 70 talented fourth through sixth graders took the stage for a spectacular production of “Beauty and the Beast.” The show, directed by Kim Rosner and Tamryn Rosner, captivated audiences during two evening performances on Friday and Saturday.

From the opening number to the final curtain call, the young cast brought the beloved story to life with heartfelt performances, vibrant costumes and impressive set designs. The audience was treated to classic moments, unforgettable songs and the timeless message that true beauty lies within.

Setauket Elementary School has officially opened its new Indoor Recess Room. The adaptable space was designed with all students in mind, offering a welcoming environment that encourages engagement, creativity and connection regardless of the weather.

The project was made possible through the efforts of the School-Based Site Management Team, generous community donations, contributions from fifth and sixth grade students, and dedicated staff members who volunteered both time and resources.

In addition to providing a space for indoor play, the Indoor Recess Room is intended to positively impact student behavior by offering increased opportunities for meaningful engagement during recess.

R.C. Murphy Junior High School recently held its much-anticipated annual Staff vs. Student basketball game, an event that brings together school spirit, friendly competition and plenty of excitement.

Organized by the physical education and world language departments, the event is a highlight of the year for both students and faculty. A key part of the lead-up to the game is a 3-on-3 basketball tournament held each March, in celebration of March Madness. The tournament is coordinated by world language teacher Mr. Geoninatti and open to all students.

The winning teams from the eighth and ninth grade brackets earn the unique opportunity to represent the student body in the final Staff vs. Student game. This year’s matchup showcased the talent, teamwork and sportsmanship of both sides, with the gym filled with cheers and support from the entire school community.
